Siaya Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have dismissed claims that they reportedly turned down President William Ruto's State House invitation.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, May 13, the county assembly members clarified that the meeting with the Head of State was postponed due to Governor James Orengo's absence.
Led by Majority Leader in the County Assembly, Richard Otieno, the leaders disclosed that the meeting was initially scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, but was pushed forward to next week, awaiting the governor, who travelled abroad.
Otieno's sentiments were backed by other MCAs who reiterated their preparedness to meet the President at State House once Orengo returns to Kenya.
