A section of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Embu have denied a plot to impeach Governor Cecily Mbarire.

Speaking to the press on Friday, June 6, the MCAs poured cold water on Mbarire's alleged ouster after it emerged that MCAs from Mbeere South were keen on presenting an impeachment motion against the first-time female governor.

The alleged impeachment plot was said to have been motivated by a recent move by Mbarire to establish the Governor's Delivery Unit (GDU), which her critics argued would result in duplication of duties in the county.

However, led by Mwea MCA Job Itumo, the MCAs dismissed the alleged plot, terming it as mere politics and false accusations.
