President William Ruto has hit out at unnamed individuals he accuses of orchestrating recent waves of tension and protests that have rocked the country in recent months.
Speaking on Wednesday during the launch of the Police Housing Project at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi, a visibly agitated Ruto vowed to take stern action against those he described as sponsors of violence, accusing them of undermining the nation's stability and economic progress. "We will not allow it.
We are coming for you," Ruto declared. "Those plotting to remove me from office before 2027 must know we will not let them destroy this country through unconstitutional means." The President warned that his administration had reached its limit and would respond firmly to those he claimed were destabilising the country under the guise of protests. "Anyone attacking our police officers, police stations, or installations is effectively declaring war," Ruto said. "We will not tolerate it.
We cannot run a country ruled by terror or chaos." He further urged respect for state institutions, stating that any attempts to incite unrest or sabotage security forces would be met with consequences.
