Locals in Nanyuki made good their threat from last week as they took to the streets in protest on Monday, July 14, demanding justice for a lady who died in police custody.

By Monday morning, there was a heavy police presence in Nanyuki town as anti-riot officers manned the streets in anticipation of the protests.

The youth had vowed to take to the street to demand justice for Njoki.

The 24-year-old reportedly died days after she was arrested on Monday, July 7, while heading home after the Saba Saba Day demos.
