President William Ruto has reappointed Feisal Abass as the non-executive Chairperson of the Privatisation Commission.

The appointment was formalised through a gazette notice dated July 18, which revealed he will hold the position for the next three years. "IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 5(1)(a) of the Privatisation Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, reappoint Feisal Abass to be the non-executive Chairperson of the Privatisation Commission," the notice read in part.

The reappointment sets the stage for continued reforms in Kenya's public sector as the government pushes forward with its ambitious asset possession agenda.
