The Nairobi City County Government has given plot owners 60 days to clear any outstanding dues and submit development plans for idle or unpaid-for plots.

According to the county, failure to comply will result in repossession and reallocation, particularly in informal settlements, site and service schemes, and infill areas across the city.

A notice signed by the Head of County Public Service Godfrey Akumali, states that the affected plots lie within site and service schemes, regularised informal settlements, and infill developments across the city.

The county noted that several parcels of county-allotted land have remained idle or in breach of allocation terms, undermining the purpose for which they were issued.
