Social media users have reacted differently following the recent statement by the Nairobi Baptist Church announcing severing ties with Rev.

Munengi Mulandi, who had served as its Senior Pastor.  The Church, through its Council of Elders, revealed that Mulandi stepped down on June 1, 2025, amid allegations of gross misconduct.

In a statement released on August 3, the church leadership said it had reviewed the allegations against the clergyman and found his actions to be incompatible with the institution and the responsibilities of ordained pastoral ministry.

The statement further declared that Mulandi's ordination had been revoked, adding, "As a church, we sadly can no longer affirm that he is qualified to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ," they stated.
