At least 21 people are feared dead after the bus they were in overturned at the Coptic Roundabout on the Kisumu-Kakamega Road.
In the tragic accident, which was confirmed by Nyanza Regional Traffic Commander Peter Maina, the casualties were believed to be mourners returning from a funeral on Friday, August 8.
While the exact cause of the accident remains unclear, preliminary reports indicated that the driver lost control before the bus veered off the highway and overturned.
Images obtained by Kenyans.co.ke showed the mangled wreck of the bus, belonging to a local high school, with others showing local milling around the scene of the accident.
