The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has cautioned Kenyans against engaging in teaching services unless they are registered under the Teachers Service Commission Act.
TSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nancy Macharia, in a gazette notice dated Friday, January 24, warned that any individual found contravening the Act was liable to two years imprisonment or pay Ksh100,000 in fine or both.
Similarly, Macharia warned learning institutions against employing individuals not registered by the commission, stating that such institutions also risked similar consequences. "A person shall not engage in the teaching service unless such a person is registered as a teacher under this Act," the commission CEO cautioned.
