All licensing activities for aviation personnel, including pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, and flight dispatchers, have been suspended effective Friday, August 22, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has announced.
In an official statement, KCAA revealed that it had shut down its Personnel Licensing (PEL) Department for a period of 30 days.
According to KCAA, the shutdown is to facilitate a major transition to a fully automated licensing system. ''KCAA) wishes to inform stakeholders that the Authority has, with immediate effect, temporarily suspended operations of the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Department for a period of 30 days to facilitate the transition to a fully automated licensing system,'' the statement read in part.
