The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the official commencement date for voter registration, ending months of speculation.

In a gazette notice on Thursday, August 28, IEBC revealed that Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) would resume on Monday, September 29, 2025, in accordance with its mandate under Article 88(4) of the Constitution. "The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) wishes to inform the public that Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will resume on Monday, 29th September 2025, in line with its constitutional mandate under Article 88(4) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010," the IEBC announced.

According to the IEBC, the exercise will primarily target individuals who have recently turned 18, as well as citizens who were previously not registered.

Voters who need to update their information will also be required to participate in the registration exercise.
