The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati on Monday, September 1, 2025, at its headquarters at 8 am in person on corruption-related charges for processing and arraignment.

The directive comes after the commission received consent from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to charge the two over allegations of conflict of interest alongside other suspects over embezzlement of public funds. Additionally, the commission has summoned Michael Simiyu Wangamati, Director, Skyman Freighters Ltd and Nabwala Construction Limited, Nicholas Wangamati - Director, Skyman Freighters Ltd and Nabwala Construction Limited, Edward Barasa Wangamati - Director, Skyman Freighters Ltd and Nabwala Construction Limited, Edward Maaya Makhanu - Director, Fastect Suppliers Ltd, Kelco Builders, Mundesi Contractors Ltd, Nabweso Builders Ltd and Valeria Construction Ltd to shade light into the allegations.
