The government has expanded its crackdown on unlicensed parcel and courier service providers to Mombasa, leading to the arrest and arraignment of five people.  The Communications Authority of Kenya, in a notice, stated that the operation was conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Mwembe Tayari and Bondeni bus stages.

It was a joint effort between the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) and the National Police Service.

According to a statement from the CA, the crackdown is part of their effort to ensure legal compliance within the country's postal services. "As part of ensuring compliance with the law in the provision of postal services in the country, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) extended its crackdown on unlicensed parcel and courier service providers to Mombasa, leading to the arrest and arraignment in court of five (5) individuals," the statement said.
