The Kenya Railways Corporation has cautioned members of the public against the dangerous practice of driving vehicles along the railway line.
In a notice issued on Saturday, August 30, the Corporation noted that such a practice poses a serious risk to the safety of motorists, passengers, and train operations.
According to Kenya Railways, the behaviour of driving along railway lines could also result in severe accidents, damage to property, injury, or loss of life. "We remind all road users that railway lines and reserves are strictly designated for train operations only," the Corporation urged members of the public.
The Corporation, in its notice to motorists, warned that unauthorised driving or parking along the railway track could potentially attract legal consequences for offenders.
