The government has reaffirmed its commitment to motivating civil servants through the harmonisation of salaries across all cadre.
Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital, and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku says this will also include a comprehensive digital transformation agenda that includes the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to boost efficiency and enhance service delivery.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 44th Kenya Civil Service Sports Organization (KECOSO) Games at Moi Stadium in Embu, the CS acknowledged persistent concerns over pay disparities in the public sector.
He assured workers that efforts were underway to ensure equitable and competitive compensation. "The government is focused on harmonising salaries and other earnings across the public service as part of a broader effort to motivate civil servants and improve service delivery," Ruku said. "We recognise the concerns around pay disparities, and we are committed to ensuring equity and fairness in remuneration." The CS commended Kenya's civil servants for their dedication and professionalism, describing them as among the continent's finest. "I want to commend our civil servants.
