Some Kenyans living in arid and semi-arid regions will begin receiving Ksh2,700 each from the government following the latest cash disbursement under the Hunger Safety Net Programme (HSNP).

The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday, September 2, announced that the government had released Ksh294,494,400 targeting 109,072 households across eight arid counties.

According to the NDMA, the funds will be available in the beneficiaries' accounts by Wednesday, September 3, through selected bank agents and branches.

The counties benefiting from the programme include Garissa, Isiolo, Mandera, Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana and Wajir.
