Senior Advisor on Constitutional Affairs and Human Rights, Makau Mutua, now says that impeaching Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is politically impossible.
Mutua, in a brief statement on Wednesday morning, warned that Sakaja's impeachment could be a major political mistake for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
He expressed reservations with the timing of Sakaja's impeachment, terming it a 'silly season' as it could have dire consequences, particularly on the ODM party.
According to him, the Nairobi Governor's impeachment would be an own-goal by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's party as it would weaken the well-established, broad-based administration.
