The Kenya Meteorological Department has urged Kenyans living in various parts of the country to brace for moderate to heavy downpour for the next five days, from Friday this week, to Tuesday next week.
Kenya Met in its weekly weather advisory, published on Friday, September 5, said rains were expected in the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Northwest and the Rift Valley.
Counties in these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
According to the weather department, rains in these areas were projected to begin in the morning hours, with the downpour expected to intensify in the afternoon.
