President William Ruto has announced new state appointments in the latest round of postings to various parastatals.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, September 5, 2025, the Head of State appointed Samier Muravvej as the new Chairperson of the Kenya Fisheries Service. Muravvej will be the new Chairperson and will hold the position for three years.
The new role started on Friday, September 5, 2025. "In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 (1) (a) of the Fisheries Management and Development Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Dr.
Samier Muravvej to be the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Fisheries Service, for a period of three years, with effect from the September 5, 2025," the statement read.
