In the heat of the moment, the boda boda riders are said to have set the car, believed to have been involved in the collision, ablaze.
Images and videos seen by Kenyans.co.ke captured the vehicle engulfed in flames on the roadside, with residents and road users milling around as smoke billowed into the air.
