The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) on Sunday flagged as fake a social media post alleging that it had denied claims that the lack of payments for last year's national exam examiners had anything to do with their lost details.
This is just a day after flagging as fake a claim to the contrary.
According to the flagged post, the KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Njengere had refuted these claims which added to more confusion as it went against another social media post KNEC flagged on Saturday.
It also seemed to confirm that the delayed payments of invigilators did not have anything to do with their details being missing but something else entirely. "The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has refuted claims that it lost the details of teachers who supervised and invigilated the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations leading to delays in payments," part of the fake post read.
