The government has announced plans to construct state-of-the-art high-altitude training centres in Kericho, Nandi, and Iten, as part of a broader initiative to bolster the country's reputation as a global hub for athletic excellence.

The project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Sports, aims to enhance training facilities for both local and international athletes.

The proposed centres will be located in Kapkatet (Kericho), Kapsabet (Nandi), and Kamariny (Iten), areas renowned for their high-altitude conditions, which are ideal for endurance training.

The facilities are expected to include modern training tracks, gymnasiums, accommodation, and medical facilities, providing a comprehensive environment for athletes to prepare for competitions.
