Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi welcomed a high-level delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) at his Thika office marking a crucial step in efforts to enhance living conditions in informal settlements across the county.
The delegation, led by AFD Country Director Anne Gael Chapuis and MEDEF (Mouvement des Entreprises de France) Vice Chairman Gerald Wolf, engaged in in-depth discussions on the Second Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP 2).
The initiative seeks to upgrade infrastructure in informal settlements through improved roads, drainage, street lighting, water and sewer systems, and tenure security for residents.
AFD's funding has already facilitated transformative infrastructural improvements in Thika, Githurai, and Limuru, directly impacting thousands of residents.
