Workers in Vihiga County have Thursday staged a peaceful protest over what they termed the need for promotion, redesignation and poor working conditions.

The staff marched through Mbale town before storming into Governor Dr Wilber Ottichilo's office where they presented a memo of their grievances and demanded to be addressed.

The Kenya County Government Workers Union (KCGWU) Vihiga Branch Chairperson, Moses Ombaso, told the Governor that they were unhappy with how the county executive and the County Public Service Board (CPSB) were treating them in regards to their grievances.

He said that the staff members would not resume their duties until the demands were met in totality.
