Chief Inspector Isaac Njiriani, a Kenyan police officer, was recently awarded a Gold Medal for attaining a first position in order of merit in his Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication programme at the Central University of Punjab's School of Information and Communication Studies.
The officer made history by being the first international student of African descent to receive the medal, which is the university's highest honour after his remarkable achievement.
Njiraini, who works at the Directorate of Corporate Communication at the National Police Services headquarters, received the award at the university's graduation ceremony, which was held in Bathinda, Punjab State, India, on March 11, 2025.
The development was communicated by the NPS, which lauded Njiraini for his commendable feat, adding it was a proud moment for the service and the country as a whole.
