Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary (PS), Raymond Omollo, has urged youth from Migori to apply for the National Identification Card (ID) made free by President William Ruto.
Omollo, who joined Kuria West Member of Parliament Mathias Robi in witnessing a remarkable display of government services in action through the Huduma Centre at Nyabohanse Market in Kuria West Sub County, called upon the youth to apply for the crucial document to enable them to access government services.
The President's directive reverses a previously gazetted fee hike, which had increased the cost of obtaining an Identification Card (ID) for first-time applicants from Sh100 to Sh300 in 2024.
Omollo also disclosed that gazetted new administrative units will soon be operationalised, citing financial challenges that had delayed the process.
