A section of students, teachers, and board of management members of Mary Hill Girls High School have ventured into a challenging journey of hiking Mount Kenya, with the sole purpose of raising about Sh100 million for the construction of their school dining hall.
The group has decided to venture into this activity due to the high number of students enrolled compared to the size of the dining hall, which has been in use for decades, forcing some of the students to dine from outside.
According to the school's infrastructure and development Chairman, Mr Stephen Muiru, they intend to build a bigger dining hall for the school due to the large number of students in the school. "We wish to have a dining hall that will accommodate all the learners at a go, considering that some of them are forced to eat from outside, which is a great challenge, especially during the current rainy season," Muriu said.
