Former State House Chief of Staff and former Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Nzioka Waita, through his political initiative dubbed Masaku Mbee movement, has distributed foodstuffs to over 55 underprivileged Muslim communities from Mjini area in Machakos to help them break fast during iftar as Ramadan approaches.
Speaking on behalf of Waita at Mjini area former Kivaa ward MCA, Alex Kathinzi who spearheaded the charity drive, commended the initiative for fostering compassion and strengthening unity among Muslims and Machakos residents.
He also called upon Machakos leaders and stakeholders to unite and remember the underprivileged during the holy month with food stuff and basic needs as they dedicate themselves in prayers. "Today is a big day for us as we extend a hand of generosity to our Muslim brothers and sisters during this sacred month.
We have come together to ensure that those in need can eat and pray in peace.
