Close to 7000 Muslims spread across Nandi County have received foodstuffs worth thousands of shillings to mark celebration of the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The National Government through the County Women Representative delivered 200 bags rice and 150 of 50 kg to be distributed to 30 mosque communities spread across the county as they come to the end of their fasting period. "We have 200 bags of rice and 150 bags of beans given by the government according to the requisition done by Muslim leadership here," Cynthia Muge Nandi Women Representative said during the distribution exercise at County Headquarters Ground.

She asked the leadership to ensure foodstuffs reach also Muslim communities in prisons, colleges and universities within the county.  Muge used the occasion to praise the community across the country for demonstrating the real purpose of unity and togetherness in their daily activities.

Cynthia further urged organised women groups to seek funds from her office in order to improve their livelihoods.
