Former Public Service CS Justin Muturi has taken another swipe at President William Ruto, as he accused the head of state of lying to the country. According to Muturi, he was fired from Cabinet for asking Ruto to address abductions, contradicting Ruto's claims that he was incompetent.
During a press conference on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 2, Muturi was critical of President Ruto, whom he accused of completely overlooking the issue of abductions and extrajudicial killings.
According to Muturi, he has consistently brought forward the abduction issue to the president through several letters, reiterating that he would not attend Cabinet meetings until abductions were addressed. "I wrote a letter to the president reiterating my two positions, beseeching him that the vexing issue of abductions be prioritised for future cabinet meetings," Muturi claimed. "To date, the president has never acknowledged my letters indicating the matter of abductions and extrajudicial killings is not worth his attention." The former CS claimed that despite several reminders, the president made no effort to resolve the abduction issue, completely contradicting Ruto's sentiments during an interview at the Sagana State Lodge on Monday.
He added, "We regularly receive cabinet dispatches after meetings, but the matter of abductions has never been discussed.
