Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers, in collaboration with the General Service Unit (GSU), have launched a manhunt for suspected Al-Shabaab militants who attempted to ambush a local GSU camp in the area.
This is after dozens of the militants launched an ambush on the GSU camp located within the Basuba area in Boni Forest.
The assailants are reported to have detonated two rocket-propelled grenades at the camp, prompting a heavy gunfight between the security agencies in the area and the militants.
Police managed to recover an AK-47 rifle believed to have been left by the assailants during the escape. A KDF truck with soldiers deployed in Northern Kenya.
