The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), also known as the Ombudsman, has issued a seven-day notice to the Coast General Hospital demanding answers over an alleged oxygen blunder that led to the passing away of three patients.
Through a statement released on Thursday, April 10, CAJ issued the notice while seeking answers from the hospital's Chief Executive Officer regarding the circumstances in which the incident occurred. "The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) has issued a seven-day notice to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital to explain the circumstances under which three patients allegedly died at the facility following oxygen supply disruption," CAJ stated.
The hospital attracted attention after a scheduled maintenance to its oxygen plant resulted in the three patients losing their lives after the system was switched off. The Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, March 25, 2025.
