Makueni County Government through the Department of ICT, Education and Internship, has embarked on a programme aimed at capacity-building Board of Governors and managers with skills in all the Vocational Training Centres (VTC) in an effort to enhance governance and service delivery.
Through the initiative, a board chairperson and a manager drawn from each of the 61 VTCs were equipped with vital skills in governance, financial management, asset management, human resource practices, legal compliance and curriculum development.
Speaking while officiating the induction event at Wote Technical Training College on Saturday, the Executive Committee Member (CECM) Department of ICT, Education and Internship Elizabeth Muli reminded the managers and chairpersons that their leadership and stewardship were critical in improving the VTCs across the county.
