A multi-agency security team has been formed in the Coastal region to ensure safety during the Easter holiday.
Coast Police Commander (RPC) Ali Nuno therefore assured both local and international visitors of enhanced security throughout the festive period. "Being a popular tourism destination, I want to assure both local and international visitors to come and enjoy their holidays on our beautiful beaches.
We have an operation order in place with security teams strategically positioned across the entire region to ward off criminals and as well prevent accidents," Nuno stressed at the Regional Police Headquarters in Mombasa.
He further attributed most of the accidents witnessed in the region to drunk driving, fatigue, or driver negligence, noting. "My advice to all travellers is to ensure you have a responsible driver.
