There was relief for County workers as Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti ordered the County Public Service Board to promote close to 1000 workers by July 2025.
The County staff from different departments who had stagnated on the same job group for 7-10 years have been assured of promotions to enhance overall productivity and boost their morale and motivation.
Wavinya was speaking at her office during a policy sensitization forum where she said her Government Administration is focused on streamlining the public service and offering support to county staff to grow while promoting equity and fairness.
She acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the staff members who have a wealth of experience and knowledge that has greatly benefited her administration saying it was unfair for them to serve 10 years without promotion. "It was painful to learn that some of our staff members have gone for more than 7 years without a single promotion.
