Communities in Loima Sub-County have made a strong case for increased investment in clean water, early childhood development (ECD), and agriculture during the just-concluded public participation on Turkana County's 2025/2026 budget proposals.

While presenting her views, Mary Areng, a representative from a women's group, urged county leaders to give urgent attention to ECDE learners. "Investing in our children's early education is crucial for their future.

We want to see real commitment in this budget toward ECDE centers, trained teachers, and learning materials," she said, calling for direct funding to support early learning at the grassroots.

Additionally, poor access to clean water emerged as a cross cutting need across all wards.
